Resurrecting the Chili Cheese Burrito.

When Matthew and I moved to Oregon 5 months ago, I was excited to finally live in the same town as a Taco Bell. I know it's not the finest quality 'mexican' food, but I love it. When I was in highschool I even worked at one, just so I could eat there everyday. Unfortunately, not even halfprice nachos made up for the torture of working with immature 16 year old boys that would squirt guacamole all of the back of my legs while I was running the cash register... and when they weren't torturing us ladies, they were in the cooler getting drunk. You think I'm joking, don't you!

You can only imagine my distress when we got to Roseburg and I found that my favorite Taco Bell treat was no longer on the menu! Oh chili cheese burrito, why have you deserted me!? Turns out, Taco Bells now have the option to choose their menu items... and most of them have opted not to order my beloved chili cheese burrito.

Today I discovered an entire website devoted to the cause... www.chilicheese.org . In the last 6 months, they've raised $250 to convince corporate Taco Bell to bring them back. Isn't that amazing? 250 smackers! Good job, guys. They have a petition there for all to sign. What are you waiting for people?

What Bertie did this weekend.

See Bertie.

See Bertie run.

Weekend update.

Things accomplished since Friday:
-ordered new glasses
-got meds for eyes (don't ask)
-passed the written exam standing in my way of driving legally (hooray!)
-cut up an apple tree with handsaws... wearing flipflops
-helped my Mom pack for Minnesota (they left Saturday)
-planted a bunch of flowers in pots (at 2am)
-made some necklaces (till 3am)
And this was all on FRIDAY!

So interesting story...

Last night I had another one of my hallucinating dream episodes. Somewhere around 3 or 4am this morning I woke up because a 'huge spider' was crawling on my head. It scared me so bad that I started flailing everywhere and yelling (quite loudly if you imagin), trying to get it off my head. I jumped out of bed entirely too fast- because the dizziness and the intense fear made me really sick to my stomach. I spent the next 10 minutes hunched over the toilet while Matthew searched the bed for my invisible spider.

Poor guy. Good thing he has a strong heart.

I love this day!

I found out a couple of days ago that our office would be closed today for Good Friday. I've been really overtired lately, and this week was exhausting emotionally (I won't go into that right now). So I've really been looking forward to today, the day of relaxation. This morning I slept in till about 10, went out onto our patio and relaxed in the sun on our new patio furniture (in my pj's), watched tv, took a bath, and here I am again... on the patio. The thermometer out here says it's about 84 degrees, the sun is shining... I feel like a little kid on Christmas that's just been given an amazing gift. Time.

A few minutes ago, an eagle flew over our house, casting huge shadows onto the roofs of the houses below. Then I looked down and watched the neighbor's cat eat a little frog. A sprinkler just came to life in a yard below, kids anxiously awaiting the cold water. Bertie is growling at aforementioned cat down on the ground... obviously despared at the death of said frog.

Did I mention that I love this day?
